Cadetship programme at Stevenson Aggregates

Posted on

A cadetship programme is now in place in Stevenson Aggregates. The programme is aimed at school leavers and young people. It serves as a stepping stone for those that are wanting to pursue a career in the quarrying industry.

We provide a comprehensive, structured training programme, mentorship and financial development support during a two-year programme which sees cadets rotate through the various areas of the business including the Laboratory, Maintenance Workshop, Transport and Dispatch, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Quarries, Crushing and Weighbridge. There are opportunities to have exposure to the Health and Safety, Sales and Human Resource parts of the business as well, for those that are interested.

During the cadetship, cadets will have the opportunity to achieve a Level 2 NZ Certificate in Mining and Quarrying. This takes around seven months to complete with cadets then moving to the Level 4 Certificate which is a two-year qualification.
