Transport team nominated finalist for the Operational Impact Award
The team was a finalist for the Operational Impact Award
Stevenson Aggregates transport drivers for delivering significant operational savings and efficiency improvements through a simple but effective fuel reduction initiative.

Stevenson Transport was nominated for an Operational Impact Award at the recent Fulton Hogan Good Work Awards evening, held at One NZ Stadium in Christchurch. In April this year, when fuel prices started to rise, the Transport Team looked at ways to reduce the impact of those increasing costs. They identified idling time as an area where they could reduce expenses. At their monthly toolbox meeting, they presented the cost of fuelling a truck for a month and encouraged the team to minimise their idle time.

To their credit, the team really took this on board and reduced idle time from 15.16 hours over a seven-day period to 6.76 hours within a short timeframe. The current record now stands at 5.56 hours. Johnny Adams, Ben Hussey, and Mike Close flew to Christchurch to represent the Transport Team.
