Future Quarries
Newcombe Road Sand
The proposed site at 77 Newcombe Road will specialise in high-quality concrete sand for customers producing infrastructure, commercial and residential building projects throughout Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.
RS Sand has submitted a consent application to Waipā District Council and Waikato Regional Council to establish and operate this sand quarry.
Newcombe Road Sand will operate under a staged approach. Once each stage is completed, the land will be rehabilitated back into farmland in line with the surrounding landscape.
Drury Quarry –
Sutton Block
Since 1948 the Drury quarry has been helping to build New Zealand’s largest city’s rail, transport connections and homes. By 2048, Auckland’s population will have grown to 2.3 million and it is estimated we will need 263,000 extra jobs and 300,000 more homes.
With the section of the quarry that we are currently working on nearing the end of its lifespan, we are looking to continue our work on the northern part of our site.
